OUR MISSION |
NJSP SOTT: 2008 CHAPTER OF THE YEAR.
Survivors of the Triangle, a New Jersey Chapter of Concerns of Police
Survivors, Inc. provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the
lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the
line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, COPS
provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization
issues and educates the public of the need to support the law
enforcement profession and its survivors.
OUR GOALS AND HOPES:
To address the emotional, psychological, and financial obstacles in
which a family endures after a loved one has been killed in the line of
duty.
Conjointly with open arms our non-profit organization confronts and
conquers all legal issues which may arise, thus easing the stressors of
death allowing the family time to heal.
With vigor and vivacity we guide all through tragedy, to a state of
regained strength and a new purpose for life.
FOUNDERS:
Donna Lamonaco
(1981)
On March 15, 1975, my life had finally become a dream come true. I had
just married my best friend, Phil. For six and a half years our life
together grew in a home filled with happiness, trust and three lovely
children. My dreams turned into a nightmare on December 21, 1981, when
Phil was gunned down and murdered by revolutionaries.
Michelle Carroll
(1984)
May 26, 1984, was the happiest day of my life, I married Billy Carroll.
Little did I know that just seven weeks later, I would spend the day in
the same church for his funeral.
Peggy Mallen
(1985)
On August 28, 1985, one man pulled the trigger on a shotgun and within
moments, I went from being a happy working wife and mother, to a police
widow, a single parent, and a victim.
Nancy Moos
(1987)
From February 27, 1987 to the present, I have gone from the point of
total devastation to a much stronger individual who has turned most of
my energies to the needs of other survivors.
